stand up paddle surfing fitness
A few days ago, we had a great time Stand Up Paddle Boarding and practicing Yoga on our SUP’s with Julie Roach of http://www.myyogagirl.com.
Julie writes, “Living in Central Florida all my life, water being on both sides and in between, my sport and passion is movement with nature. As a Yoga instructor and personal trainer, I love to train, teach yoga and just generally be outside. Just over a year ago, I was lucky enough to have an opportunity to start teaching yoga on top of a SUP. .. HEAVEN!
Passionate about stability, balance and mindfulness, I can practice no matter what the wind, water or weather conditions might be. I’m on the water as much as possible, but use the Gigante cushions when I can’t. I position the cushions under the nose & tail of my board, allowing me to have a challenging, stable workout everyday. My yoga practice and strength have improved considerably, and it’s a SUPload of fun right in my own backyard (or living room! )Check it out for yourself . Julie paddles and teaches yoga on the beautiful Winter Park Chain of Lakes in Central Florida. She instructs smaller private groups in basic paddle instruction, yoga and fitness classes in the quiet coves and lakes in and around Orlando. Julie is a Florida native and is a certified yoga instructor and lifeguard. She has created a new board for standup paddle yoga & fitness with Suplove TM, to be introduced at Surf Expo this fall. Hunter is a surfer, skater, snowboarder, wakeboarder, Indo Board Master and all around extreme athlete who had too many skateboard falls during the 1970′s Dogtown and Z-Boys era.
