Surfing is fun. You know what’s more fun? Surfing well. Although not all of us can surf like John John or Mick, I think we can all agree it’s a whole lot more fun to surf your personal best than to bog and bumble your way through a perfect wave. We are stoked to be working with one of Surfing’s truly great Watermen, Darrick Doerner, who understands the real value of Indo Board Balance Training! Thanks for your Aloha, Darrick!
About Darrick Doerner:
Indo Board Enthusiast, Todd Aimer, 4th degree black belt and former pro surfer, loves training on the Indo Board and uses it religiously in his martial art studios. In this video, he trains Dr. Stephanie Green. Tip: Unlike Dr. Green, who performs this exercise excellently, place your fingers on top the Indo Board to avoid having your fingers pinched!
Upon completion of the Indo Board Continuing Education Workshop with Master Trainer Rocky Synder in Santa Cruz, California, I asked Amy if she would like to try some yoga poses on an unstable surface. Enthusiastically she exclaimed, “Yes!, That’s what’s been missing in yoga! But how do you create the instability?” I quickly pulled my SUP board out off the van and proceeded to set it on top of 2 IndoFLO GIGANTE cushions, one under the nose and one placed under the tail. This is the Indo Board Surfing Yoga set up. Many yoga practitioners have recently discovered an SUP board creates a big enough platform to allow a wide variety of yoga movements and postures on water which is naturally unstable. Now, this can be done on dry land and Amy had lots of fun “Getting INDO It!”
